A building on the site of the present Sherrington Manor is mentioned in the Domesday Book, and the land was granted to William de Cahaignes following the Norman Conquest. It is NOT OPEN to the public.
The Manor is reputed to be haunted by three ghosts in the upstairs corridors. Coxe states that one is a "benign brown-clad figure".
